Reflections on a Year of Pluto in Sagittarius
Introduction
Greetings USED KARMA readers! Those of you who read Deek's Ramble last month are up on Pluto in Sagittarius [insert link here to Tony's text clip]. Those of you who are regular readers of this column will recall my frequent examples of this aspect's effects in current events. As Deek pointed, Pluto has been in Sagittarius for over a year now. Pluto, the farthest planet from the Sun, is the coldest planet. Sagittarius is the mutable fire sign. Sagittarian fire is the most productively active of all the fire signs. (Leo, the fixed fire sign, is powerful but lazy -- though the lion moves faster than lightning when he wants something badly enough. Aries, the cardinal fire sign and baby of the Zodiac, is the most energetic of all the Zodiac's inhabitants. Though Aries' fire is frequently moving quickly and in all directions, is not always properly directed and focused. As the owner of both Sun and Mercury in Aries, I know whereof I speak on this one.)
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck, good fortune and expansion, both physical and intellectual. Jupiter (Jove to the Greeks) was one of a pantheon of twelve Greco-Roman gods. He rules the sky and is the god of thunder, lightning and other sky spirits. Jupiter's domain opposes the realms of Pluto and Neptune.
Pluto, rules the underworld - the land where human spirits dwell after experiencing earthly death. Pluto also rules the chthonic realm - the places beneath the surface of the earth providing homes to fairies, sprites and other earth deities. The chthonic realm represents the consciousness that lives in the Earth - beings that live within the body of the mother and are perfectly attuned to Her. Thus Pluto corresponds to the subconscious, that which is beneath the surface of consciousness but above the deep powers of the unconscious.
Neptune, ruler of the seas' depths, governs the unconscious, both individual and collective. Since the unconscious harbors the greatest potential for power, Neptune shares Jupiter's abilities to hurl thunderbolts and stir the seas with high winds. The three points of Neptune's trident symbolize the physical, mental and spiritual planes of existence.
Jupiter exudes the supreme virtues of judgement and the will. His symbols are the thunderbolt, the eagle, the throne and the crown. Pluto impels us to transform ourselves for entry into other realms, both higher and deeper. Neptune instructs us on the power of the emotional body (feelings and intuition). At present, Pluto is under Jupiter's influence while Pluto rides the Centaur. Thus we have the coldest planet, the planet of reorganization, transformation and change, warmed not only by the passions of the fire element, but also by Sagittarius' happy-go-lucky demeanor and spirit of adventure, Jupiter's physical and intellectual expansion, good judgement, motivation and good luck. So Jupiter, through Sagittarius, is cooperating with his opposite rulers, Neptune and Pluto. This is a powerful trio, indeed!
More on Gulf War Syndrome - The Truth Emerges
Back in 1994, a friend of mine forwarded some fascinating materials on Gulf War syndrome. This was back when the Government was vehemently denying there was any such thing as Gulf War Syndrome. They were also making strenuous objections to the suggestion that our boys were exposed to chemical weapons over there in the dry (with respect to both water and alcohol) heat of Saudi Arabia. According to the article, the Government had administered an experimental vaccine to all Army personnel assigned to overseas duty in the Gulf War.
One Army doctored refused to administer the vaccine on the grounds that it was a violation of her Hippocratic Oath to administer a vaccine that was very experimental and had hardly been tested at all, much less tested on humans. The Army told her to administer the vaccine or be court-martialed. She elected to undergo a court-martial. She was found guilty and put into an Army prison. I am not aware of how long her sentence was or her current status. After all, this isn't the kind of story The New York Times is likely to cover. Had I an excess of time on my hands, I would do some investigative reporting.
However, I believe people in the mainstream media are going to do that for me. Pluto in Sagittarius, a transit that reveals repressed truth, sparked a major breakthrough in this story last year. You will recall that it was in 1996 that the Government finally stopped denying that there is such a thing as Gulf War Syndrome. They also stopped denying that U.S. troops had been exposed to chemical weapons in the Gulf. Of course, the log regarding the U.S. attack on an Iraqi weapons compound was conveniently missing. Imagine that! A log that was meticulously kept on all other things that happened in the war, but somehow the Army just can't find the part about our boys blowing up Iraqi chemical weapons. Gee, that's something you'd think they would have taken some special care to review and keep track of, right?
Not only that, but there were Pentagon scientists saying that the Government was trying to discredit their research. This sounds like something out of a science fiction novel, doesn't it? Unfortunately it is the truth. And just last month Attorney General Janet Reno was arguing before the Supreme Court that police officers should have broader authority to make traffic stops, searches and seizures. I guess she was absent from her law school constitutional law class the day they discussed the Fourth Amendment. Perhaps we ought to organize a major publicity campaign for Congress to re-enact the Fourth Amendment.
For those of you who don't watch enough cop shows, the Fourth Amendment is the one that protects U.S. citizens from illegal searches and seizures, and requires the police to have a warrant for searches based on “probable cause” that a crime has been committed. The Fourth Amendment's protections have been increasingly eroded by conservative factions on the U.S. Supreme Court for the past few decades. As it is, the police can stop you for a routine traffic violation and search your car. If they find three marijuana seeds they can send you to jail, because those seeds will be held as valid evidence despite the lack of a warrant based on a reasonable suspicion that you had committed a crime. The fact that the Clinton administration wants to give police even more fascistic powers to harass and intimidate civilian drivers is a giant step down the road toward totalitarianism.
This is the same Clinton administration that is trying to hide evidence that U.S. soldiers were used as human guinea pigs for experimental vaccines that were supposed to counteract the chemical agents that U.S. intelligence knew the Iraqis were harboring and which the U.S. military knew its personnel would be exposed to. Before the Gulf War (which was before the existence of this webzine) I predicted that the Gulf War veterans would be exposed to chemicals that were even more toxic and nasty than the horrible things (like napalm and agent orange) that U.S. Military personnel were exposed to in Viet Nam. Several people assured me that military chemicals are much safer these days. I told these people they were crazy to believe anything of the sort, and that these weapons are becoming nastier and nastier, not more humane. Unfortunately, my prediction came true with the thousands of complaints from around the country of Gulf War syndrome.
Keep watching the media for more stories about this issue, as the influence of Pluto in Sagittarius opens cosmic windows and doors that let the light of truth shine into our lives.
The CIA and the Drug Business
A friend of mine has a black baseball cap inscribed with the following words: CIA - Completely Illegal Activities. For many of us, the article last fall in the San Jose Mercury News about the CIA's entry into the drug business for the purpose of raising money to send arms to Nicaraguan rebels and other unsavory characters came as no surprise. The fact that the CIA engaged in a deliberate plan to sell cocaine and crack to mostly black, mostly poor inner-city youth in a deliberate attempt to immobilize and eliminate this population was also, alas, not a new concept. However, as a long-time student of suspicious Government activities I am gratified to see that things of this nature are now becoming widely-known. Who in America today has not heard of Roswell, New Mexico and why it is famous? Yet ten years ago these things were known only to a handful of conspiracy theorists and other science fiction fans.
Likewise, the CIA-drug running connection is something I have known about for years, having found out about it inadvertently through primary research (talking to drunk people in bars). As it happens, I have over the years met some people who were hired by the CIA to run drugs. Some of these people were military, others were expert sailors and yachtsmen. Can you believe it? There are people in the world who earned enough money to pay for dental school by partying on a yacht in the Caribbean for a few years and moving drugs around for the CIA. When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in 1978, the college crowd was upset because the black hash supply got cut off in most parts of this country. There was plenty of black hash in New York City, however. Why? The CIA knew where to move black hash in New York, so they were selling lots of it there.
So now that we know the CIA was deliberately targeting black youth for destruction through central nervous system stimulants, the old conspiracy theories about the CIA planting AIDS in black and gay populations starts to look a whole lot less ridiculous than it did as first blush, doesn't it? Of course, we still do not have a public accounting of how the Government spent $70 billion of the Star Wars money that was spent by the Reagan administration. Danny Casalaro was killed looking for that information while Pluto was in Scorpio, but now that Pluto is in Sagittarius there is hope that the truth about this matter will start to emerge
Richard Nixon Was Anti-Semitic? You're Kidding!
The contents of the Nixon White House tapes that were scrupulously hidden from public view until after the November election are now coming to light. (The reason this information was withheld until after the election was to help the Dole candidacy, because the tapes contain information that is hardly flattering to Bob Dole.) One of the items that was reported in The New York Times last month was the fact that the tapes indicate that Nixon instructed H.R. Haldeman to have the IRS audit all the wealthy Jews who had given to Democratic causes, and that he wanted the IRS to “persecute” these people. Apparently Nixon was very concerned about this, because the tapes show he asked several times about the “big” Jews.
Remember how shocked, shocked! you were when you found out that LBJ routinely used words like “nigger” and “kike” in private? Evidence of Nixon's blatant anti-semitism is about as surprising (i.e., not very). But those of us who suspected these things back in the 70s can at least be gratified that the truth is finally coming out.
Flight 800: What Happened and Why Don't We Know?
Those of you who read this column in the New Moon in Virgo 1996 issue [can Willie insert a link to it here - I'll send a copy!] will recall that I was complaining last summer about the fact that the U.S. Government had been keeping us in the dark for weeks. Now it has been months since the fatal crash, and we STILL don't know what brought down that plane. You can be sure the Government knows, but they still aren't telling! You can rest assured we will find out eventually, thanks to Pluto in Sagittarius.
